Biography:
Scope and Content:
The collection consists typescript and bound catalogs of the Anne of Brittany book collection created by Dr. H. Winnett Orr
during his lifetime. Orr collected books relating to Anne, her life, her husbands, her reign as Queen of Brittany and as a
Queen of France, the history of France during her lifetime, notable individuals alive during her reign, and general histories
of France and its people. In addition, Orr created scrapbooks of his trip to Brittany in 1929 and of items assocated with
his book collection and catalog list of the collection. Biographical items include a photograph of Orr and information on
his service during World War I. Please note that the catalogs listed in the folder list are actually bound copies of Orr's
typed catalog with additions, edits, notes on entries, and added materials such as book catalogs, postcards, correspondence,
and receipts.
